GENERAL CONDITIONS

Undergraduate students, master students and PhD candidates can participate in the contest by submitting a written work in essay format about the topics related to the International Sale of Goods, International Commercial Law or International Private Law.
1. Participants:
1.1  Undergraduate Students
1.2  Master  and  Specialization Students
1.3  PhD candidates

2. Each participant will present only one essay individually.

3. The essay must be related to the topics of International Sale of Goods, International Commercial Law or International Private Law.

4. The essay must be sent in this terms:
4.1  Language: Spanish or English
4.2  Unpublished; it cannot be currently under consideration for publication elsewhere.
4.3  Extension: The article should be between 10.000- 12.000 words, without including citations, notes and bibliography. It is recommended letter size, 1.5 lines, font Arial, 12-point type.
4.4  It has to be signed under a pseudonym of the author and without any indication that could show their identity or university.

5. The essay must be presented with:

5.1 Author Identification: In another document must be included the essay Title and the pseudonym used, the author’s identification with all his contact information (e-mail, phone number, address, city and country)
5.2 Certificate of studies of the University which confirms the condition of student or graduation process.
5.3 Written authorization from the author to the Externado University for include, edit, print and distribute for only one time the essay, without demanding any economic benefit, because of the academic nature of the competition. This authorization doesn’t imply the cession of author’s moral rights.

6. Essay remission and documents annexed.

6.1 The participants must send their essay in Microsoft Word and PDF format to CIDINN@uexternado.edu.co. Indicate in the subject of the message “Competition”
6.2  In the same e-mail there must be attached the essay and all the documents required.
6.3 The essays can be presented from August 9th to September 1st of 2015, with deadline to 12:00 PM (UTC/GMT -5).
6.4  The e-mail will emit an automatic response which confirms the receipt of the documents. In case that you don´t receive it, inform that issue immediately.

7. Essay remission to the jury
7.1 The essays evaluated will be the ones received before the deadline announced above.
7.2 Before the essay remission, the judges will verify that all the documents required are complete. Be sure of sending all the documents.

8. The judges will be designated by the Congress’s Organizing Committee. They will evaluate the essays in aspects as: analysis, use of sources, conclusion’s contribution, etc.

9. The winner will be announced on Monday, September 21st, 2015.The judges can reward one or many essays if they consider it. In any case there will be only one winner in each formation level

10. Awards:
10.1 The author of the best essay will have the opportunity to present his work in the II Iberoamerican Congress of International Business Law in the day, hour and limit of time assigned by the Congress’s Organizing Committee.
10.2 Event organizers will subsidize living expenses and meals in Bogota, from October 18th to 21st of 2015.
10.3 The winner will be exempt from payment of registration to II Iberoamerican Congress of International Business Law
10.4 The best essay could be published as part of the memories of the academic event or in one of the scientific magazines edited by the Externado University.

NOTE: All the essays send, implies the knowledge and acceptance of the present conditions. All the issues that could arise and are not foreseen, will be solved by the Organizing and Academic Committee of the II Iberoamerican Congress of International Business Law.
