Jan Kleinheisterkamp

GERMANY

Lawyer of the University of Hannover. Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D), Summa Cum Laude from the University of Hamburg. He made his doctoral thesis on International Commercial Arbitration in Latin America.

He was admitted to the Bar of Hamburg. Previously he worked at the Max-Planck Institute for Private International Law in Hamburg, and was an assistant professor at HEC School of Management, Paris. He is an experienced consultant in comparative law and conflict of laws, also has been an arbitrator in several cases in the ICC, LCIA.

He is a member of British Institute of International and Comparative Law, the American Society of Comparative Law, the American Society of International Law, the German Society of International Law, the International Arbitration Institute, the German Institution for Arbitration and the Brazilian Committee of Arbitration. He is a professor at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), where he teaches the subjects of contracts and international commercial arbitration.
